Superbad and Super crappy.

I went to see Superbad tonight with Jon, Pat, Michelle & Matt. I wish Jenny could have gone, as she's the person who was originally psyched to see it with me, but she's planning L's birthday party tomorrow so whatever. The movie took me back to high school in a major way. First of all this dude, Michael Cera totally reminds me of one of my best friends from high school, Jason, who would probably be annoyed and insulted that I think they are basically one in the same. Secondly umm drawing weiners totally reminds me of Jon. I loved the movie and laughed out loud so much.

Unfortunately I am in a bad mood right now at life in general. My computers keep crapping out on me while I'm trying to work and it's making life difficult. I'm also anxious to have my appointment monday at the gastroenterologist to see why the hell I can't eat/keep getting sick every time I eat.

I'm real irritated and I keep thinking really deeply about relationships and love and commitment and all of these questions and ideas keep popping into my head. Things that don't necessarily apply to me, but that I'm thinking about. I think love should be at the center of a relationship. If you don't LOVE someone the way that you should (romantically) then it should just be over. Financial responsibility, parental responsibility, and friendship can still be there without an actual commitment or relationship. I just don't understand why people don't let go when it's over. Everyone deserves to be happy and everyone deserves to pursue that happiness. I hate the seriousness of vows and the finality of relationships/marriages. I don't know why I keep thinking about this tonight. It doesn't have much to do with me or my marriage/relationship at all (just being clear, don't worry about me and J. This isn't about him.) It's just something I'm thinking about.

I'm frustrated with everything right now and I should probably just go watch Intervention and then go to bed because Dev has karate in the morning and then we've got to go shopping for a birthday present for L, and then go to her party!

new socks

While we were in the Outer Banks, I picked up the 2 end yarns, Sockotta and Cherry Tree Hill (which I started knitting Monkey Socks out of.) The middle yarn is from Sunny Side Ellen's etsy shop. It's really nice. I think it will become Giotto socks.

I also got some other new yarn but I'm hesitant to talk about it for 2 reasons. 1. Jon's mad about it and 2. It's for a surprise. Meh.

I'm off to get gyros at the Greek diner!

Thank You Susan!

I meant to post this sooner, but I was busy working!

I got this package in the mail the other day from my secret sockpal, and it's super awesome! Sweets, fabric, authentic New Zealand goodies, and most importantly: beautiful handknit socks (and in my favorite color, too!) yay! I should say, I've been a little obsessed with New Zealand since I watched Heavenly Creatures.

Awesome! Thanks Susan, the socks fit perfectly. They'll be wonderful when the weather starts cooling down. I had to take them right off because unfortunately my air conditioner broke again and I didn't want to get them all sweaty! (It broke on almost the same day last year!)A big 'thank you' is in order to Alison for organizing such a huge swap!

vacation!

We got back yesterday from our trip (my mom, dad, brothers & their families) to the Outer Banks, North Carolina. The weather was hot and sticky and the ocean was freeeeezing cold. I had a great time and I miss my family very much!
